RICK LaFAVERS                  HEAD COACH

  • Has coached at LCHS for  7 years (Head Coach 2015-present, Defensive Coordinator 2012-2014)
  • 21 years total in coaching (Southwest High (Ft Worth) 1997-1998, TCU 1998-2000, Alabama 2001-2002, Texas A&M 2003-2005, Texas State 2006-2007, Rice 2007-2012, Lamar Consolidated 2012-2014, Ridge Point 2014-2015, Lamar Consolidated 2015-present)
  • Graduated from Amarillo High 1991 and from TCU in 1997 with a BS and in 2000 with a MLA
  • Played Defensive Back at TCU 1991-1995 (Team Captain 1995, 2nd Team All-SWC 1995)
  • Married to Kim LaFavers; 4 Boys – Austin (15), Coleson (12), Ryan (9), Tyler (5)
  • Accomplishments of note: (Developed 14 NFL, 5 All-American, and 17 All-Conference players, Coached in six Bowl games (Texas, Cotton, Independence, Mobile (2), Sun), Part of staff in 10-win seasons at TCU (2000), Alabama (2002), and Rice (2008), Ridge Point HS (2014), Part of a defensive staff at TCU that led the nation in scoring defense and total defense (2000), Part of a defensive staff at Alabama that finished 3rd nationally in total defense / 5th nationally in scoring defense (2002), Part of an offensive staff at Rice that broke 40 school records, tied a school record with 10 wins, and became CUSA Co-Champions)

Varsity Offensive Coordinator-Stephen Goodwin

  • Graduated HS from Wortham HS and Stephen F. Austin State University
  • Wife is Jillian

  • 2010 National Champions UDlAP Aztecas
  • Graduated Bishop Dunne HS Dallas and Texas Christian University 1993-1996 (4 year lettermen at CB)
  • Wife Fanny-Franchitti Allen and 2 daughters Emma (8) & Alice (4)

  • Graduated from Pearland HS and Stephen F. Austin

  • Graduated from Alief Elsik HS and  Texas A&M Kingsville (Played football (Linebacker))
  • Played for the Chicago Bears for 2 years

JV Head Coach-Joshua Bromberg

  • Graduated from Foster HS and UH Victoria (played baseball)
  • 2x All-District Defensive End / 2x All-Area Defensive End / Baseball: 3x All-District / 3x All-Area / 2005 Area MVP
  • Wife  Amber Bromberg and daughter Hayzlee (10 months)

JV Assistant Coach- Terry Perrone

  • 1st coaching at Lamar Consolidated HS
  • 8 years total coaching
  • Graduated from Houston Bellaire HS (played football and baseball) and from Utah State University (Bachelors) and Texas A&M University (Masters)

Sophomore Head Coach/Wide Receivers Coach- Charles McWilliams

  • 1st year coaching at Lamar Consolidated HS

  • Graduated from Austin Lanier HS and Texas Christian University (played football (3 year starter at Defensive Back) and ran track)
  • 3 sport athlete in high school (football, basketball, track) (3x district champion in the long jump, All-district running back and defensive back)
  • Graduated from Texas Christian University 1992-1996 (played football and ran track)
  • Wife Javonna; Kids: Craig (23), Marcus (21), Sean (20), Anthony (18), Taye (17), Ethan (14), Donovan (9)

Freshman Head Coach-Jimmy Franklin

  • 16 years at LCHS
  • 24 years total coaching (Head Football Coach at John Tyler High School for several years)
  • 45 years in education (Principal at Lancaster High School, Principal Stafford High School)
  • Graduated from Edna High School and went to college at the University of North Texas (Played Offensive Line and defensive Line at UNT)
  • Proud father of a son and daughter and Proud Grand parent of two granddaughters

Freshman Assistant Coach-Jacob Frank

  • Graduated from Faith Academy, Bellville (played football) and  from Texas Tech University (film crew)
